Cigars, hotels, and mining have all contributed to the population and wealth growth of Tampa over the years. At the origin, it was the Seminole tribes who inhabited much of Florida. The state was purchased by the US from Spain in 1819. During the Civil War, Tampa was home to The Battle of Tampa, Battle of Fort Brooke, and Battle of Ballast Point. Cigars made their business debut in 1884 from Vicente Martinz Ybor, who moved his cigar factory from Cuba to Tampa. Ybor City, named after Ybor, now stands as a central nightlife hotspot where the last 1900s cigar factory remains and produces 12 million cigars a year. The population really started to grow in Tampa in the 1880s and 1890s as phosphate was discovered. Tampa’s location on both the Ocean and the Hillsborough River made it a prime location for shipping, trading, and tourism and it still is today.

Find nightclubs, bars, restaurants, and venues to love whether you need to be tucked in by 10 pm or want to dance into the next morning.

Ybor City
Ybor City is a historic district of Tampa with Cuban roots. Remember the cigars that have a historical impact? This is where it all started. Leave the car behind and take advantage of the streetcars to find entertainment like a comedy show or dancing scene and, of course, add a Cuban sandwich to your menu.

Tampa Riverwalk
The Tampa Riverwalk is 2.6 miles of walking or biking pleasure. For a night out, choose one of the numerous restaurants with a great patio overlooking the river and save room for dessert as you stroll the walkway. If you prefer daytime fun, the Riverwalk is also a great place for festivals, parades, renting a bike, or even a boat ride.

Hyde Park
Hyde Park is a historical neighborhood with upscale homes and upscale entertainment. If your ideal nightlife is a little less loud and busy, and a little bit more intimate and classic, you will enjoy a night out in the Hyde Park neighborhood.
Tampa Bay Great Outdoors
Even though Tampa, Florida real estate gets you close to city life and activity, you can easily escape to the great outdoors. Surely you will spend time enjoying one of the many beaches such as Davis Beach or Indian Rock Beach. Additionally, you can get out for a hike at the beautiful Hillsborough River State Park.
