History of Hillsborough County Florida
History of Hillsborough County Florida
The history of Hillsborough County and Tampa are in many ways synonymous since the area surrounding the city was sparsely populated for a long time. Among the people who were first to call this area home were the Calusa and Timucua, and later on, the Seminoles. The area was first mapped out by Spanish explorers in the 16th century and Florida officially became part of the US in 1821. Fort Brooke, a military base, was constructed just a few years later in 1824. Years later, business mogul Henry B. Plant would prove to be instrumental in helping to grow Tampa’s population and economy. He helped to spearhead the development of the port and eventually brought the railroad to the area in 1884, something that helped to fuel population growth.

Why should you buy land in Hillsborough County, FL?
Why should you buy land in Hillsborough County, FL?
If you’re looking to buy land, Hillsborough County in Florida is an ideal option for a number of reasons. For one, this area is growing and thriving, there’s a great deal of economic activity taking place which is helping to drive demand for this area. While this does mean that land is more costly per acre than some other more remote places in the U.S., it also means that this land is more likely to appreciate in value. Land can be a great investment, as it’s something that has untapped potential, which can give you options. You can hold onto it and wait for the value to (ideally) increase in time. Another option is to subdivide it and sell the parcels to other buyers, making a profit off of each plot that you sell. Another idea is to hold and sell it to a developer or develop the land yourself. Even adding basic facilities such as sewer to the property can help to add to its value considerably.
Buying land is a great way to get on the housing ladder as well. You could live on the land, in a mobile home for instance, as you build your own house on the parcel. The great thing is that owning land is that it gives you options.
