House Arlington,TX

Arlington was a railroad town in its formative years, but it has grown into an admirable modern city that ranks very high and among the citizens' favorites. The city's first depot, built in 1876 by the Dallas & Pacific Railroad, was located on West Commerce Street. It’s here that the first seeds of greatness were planted.

This is one city where you practically choose how you want to live. You can live on a sprawling ranch or in a suburban tract house. You can have a gated community with swimming pools and tennis courts or a tree-lined pond community with private roads and acreage. You can find classic Mediterranean homes and split-levels or post-war modern floor plans with included dockominiums on Lake Arlington.

It ranked as the best city in Texas, courtesy of an enabling environment that makes life here exciting and worth living. The seamless public transport system, the reliable and solid public school system, a supportive business environment, and the vibrant nightlife are just a few attractions to Arlington, Texas. It's highly desirable to buy a house in Arlington, TX.

In a recent survey, the city scored an A+ in respect to its schools, health and fitness, and, not surprisingly, its nightlife. The health and fitness aspects are weighed against obesity rates and access and availability to health resources. It's not surprising that it's billed as the "American Dream City."

When developers of the Texas and Pacific decided to stop midway between Fort Worth and Dallas in 1876, they sealed the fate of the future of a little-known town that would become a beckon of urbanization. Here, a city named after the triumphant war General Robert E Lee would later stand. The name Arlington was officially incorporated in 1884. The population grew exponentially as it became a hub of commerce and immense opportunities presented by the larger Texas frontier. In 1887, Arlington became the seat of Tarrant County, and the first courthouse opened there two years later. Arlington gained fame throughout the 19th century for its thriving cotton-ginning and farming center. The nature of its enterprises saw a quick and solid establishment of essential amenities. Water, natural gas, telephone services, electricity, and a promising public school system became an attractive package for those who wanted to settle here. By 1900, the town had shown immense potential for growth with a population of about 1000 people. Cotton and wheat farming were an important part of the town's growth process. Within a short period, Arlington started witnessing booming business and a considerable improvement in the quality of life for all. The town now had factories and established many steam-powered trains and automobiles. The population of Arlington reached about 60,000 residents by the 1920s. Around this period, people started to abandon cotton farming as it was deemed economically unviable, and many farmers began to diversify their crops. Arlington finally approached a complete electrical infrastructure in 1927 and set the pace for modernization. Entertainment outfits suh as the infamous Top O' Hill Casino, an illegal yet essential part of the city's lifestyle in these early days, adds to its intriguing background. The enterprise was purchased in 1956 and converted into Arlington Baptist University. Today, the city's housing market is one of the most attractive, and people from all over are buying houses in Arlington, TX. Lots of green space and a good balance of work and play make the city a fast choice for professionals, fun-seekers, and families.
